I'm taking baby steps in the world of digital recording. I bought a halfway-decent Firewire input for my MacBook that I can plug the old Les Paul into and have been playing around with GarageBand. It's a lot of fun, even if you suck, like me.

My first attempt at a composition (it can on loosely be called a composition) is a song I call "Monolithic". It's got a few samples of my favorite neurotic computer, the HAL 9000 from 2001. I made it in honor of Sir Arthur C. Clarke who passed away at 92 recently. It's very much a rough work in progress.
For the love of all things holy. We Patton fanbois are having a collective howl at this clip. And yes, it's real. And yes, it's from "All My Children". All it needs is the chick to say the line "...but Cuckoo for Caca is really the pinnacle of his creative talent."
Going through my old data CD's the other night, I found a real gem from 1998. In black Sharpie the disc was titled "7hp sounds and other stuff". What I found squirreled away in there was a bunch of AIFF sound files from a Seven Hill Psychos live show in early '98. Seems like yesterday, but it was incredibly almost eight years ago.

Anyhoo... It had some of my old faves: All These Things, Evilution and Superhero Zero. These were some of Seven Hill Psychos best stuff, and was never played enough live for my taste. Glad I found them here. Listening to the songs on my way to work (on my backup iPod) I really noticed what a completely kickass drummer Bill is. His drum work on this stuff is just shattering.

So, without further ado, I've encoded these old beauts in MP3 format for your enjoyment.

All These Things.mp3

Bridges.mp3

Evilution.mp3

Eyesore.mp3

Superhero Zero.mp3

programmed.mp3

P.S. - Be patient with the download... I've only got 384Kbits of upload bandwidth.

...as of two f%$*@ing weeks ago!

Just saw Tomahawk last night with Tina and Chris at the Roxy in Boston. (Hats off to Mom & Dad for taking the spuds for the night out.). It was incredible. Anyone who knows me knows how much I am into anything Mike Patton, and this was damn near a religious experience for me. I am seriously starting to like this group as much as my beloved Faith No More. Whodathunkit?
